The conferences to implement the appointment process for the president of Da Lat University conclude with great success

On May 5, 2026, Da Lat University organized a series of conferences to implement the appointment process for the University President in accordance with Plan No. 629/KH-ĐHĐL, ensuring compliance with regulations, democracy, publicity, and objectivity.

Authorized by the leaders of the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET), Mr. Pham Tien Toan – Deputy Director General of the Department of Personnel and Organization – attended and chaired the conferences. The MOET working delegation attending and supervising the conferences also included:

  • Mr. Chu Viet Hung – Expert of the Party Committee’s Organizing Board.
  • Ms. Vu Thi Hong Thai – Senior Expert of the Department of Personnel and Organization.

Representatives from the higher-level Party Committee attending and supervising the conferences included:

  • Mr. Tran Van Thương – Provincial Party Committee Member, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Lam Dong Provincial People’s Committee.
  • Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Hien – Executive Committee Member of the Party Committee of the Provincial People’s Committee, Vice Head of the Organizing Board of the Party Committee of the Provincial People’s Committee.

From Da Lat University, participants included:

  • Members of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and the Executive Committee of the Party Committee.
  • The incumbent President and Vice Presidents.
  • Leaders of socio-political organizations, as well as leaders of affiliated and subordinate units.

The series of conferences was organized within the morning of the same day, strictly following the 5-step personnel procedure:

The conference focused on discussing and consensus-building regarding the personnel policy, followed by casting orientation nomination ballots. As a result, Comrade Mai Minh Nhat – Secretary of the University Party Committee – was selected to be nominated for the next step.

This conference was attended by the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, the President, the Vice Presidents, and Heads of all affiliated and subordinate units. Participants exchanged opinions and discussed the qualities and capabilities of the nominee before casting nomination ballots via secret voting.

Attendees included the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, the President, the Vice Presidents, the President of the University Trade Union, the Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, the President of the Veterans’ Association, and Heads and Deputy Heads of all affiliated and subordinate units.

  • The conference secretariat announced a summary of the nominee’s curriculum vitae, work history, and publicly disclosed their asset declaration.
  • President Le Minh Chien, on behalf of the university’s leadership collective, presented the review and evaluation of the nominee’s strengths, weaknesses, merits, shortfalls, and development prospects.
  • Comrade Mai Minh Nhat presented his proposed action plan, demonstrating a strategic and comprehensive vision for the university’s development across all fields, emphasizing the maintenance of solidarity, improving training quality, scientific research, and accelerating digital transformation.
  • The conference conducted an open and democratic discussion on the nominee’s qualities and capabilities, followed by nomination via secret ballots.

After considering the evaluation from the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and the outcomes of the previous conferences, the University’s Leadership Collective discussed and voted via secret ballots to officially nominate Comrade Mai Minh Nhat to the competent authority for consideration of his appointment to the position of University President.

Based on the results of the four preceding conferences, the Executive Committee of the University Party Committee met, discussed, gave feedback, and voted via secret ballots, unanimously agreeing to request the competent authority to consider appointing Comrade Mai Minh Nhat as the President of Da Lat University.

The series of conferences was conducted in a serious, democratic, public, objective, and regulatory-compliant manner. It reflected the high solidarity, consensus, and sense of responsibility of the leadership collective and key cadres of Da Lat University in personnel affairs. This marks a crucial step in consolidating the leadership apparatus to meet the university’s development demands in the new era.
