On the morning of April 9, 2026, at the Multi-purpose Gymnasium, Da Lat University held the opening ceremony of the 2026 Student Sports Festival, attracting the participation of more than 2,500 student-athletes from across the University.
The 2026 Da Lat University Student Sports Festival is one of the key activities in a series of events celebrating major national and institutional milestones, including: the 50th anniversary of Da Lat University’s renewal and development (1976–2026); the 51st anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 – April 30, 2026) and International Workers’ Day (May 1); as well as celebrating the success of the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party, and the elections of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026–2031 term.


Attending the opening ceremony were:
- Dr. Tran Ngo Nhu Khanh – Member of the Party Committee, Chairman of the University Trade Union, Dean of the Faculty of Information Technology;
- Mr. Pham Hong Hai, M.A. – Member of the Party Committee, Head of Student Affairs, Secretary of the University Youth Union.
Also in attendance were representatives of various administrative departments, academic faculties, referees, and a large number of student supporters from across the University.
In his opening remarks, Mr. Pham Hong Hai emphasized that the Sports Festival provides an opportunity for students of Da Lat University to promote the spirit of “Unity – Training,” strengthen exchanges and learning, and create a vibrant and healthy atmosphere of competition throughout the University. At the same time, through this event, the Organizing Committee will identify outstanding athletes with excellent achievements for further training and participation in provincial and regional competitions.
This year’s Sports Festival brings together 16 teams from faculties and units across the University, competing in five sports: football and volleyball (for both men and women), tug of war, chess, and cross-country running with individual events for both male and female athletes.
The competitions are organized in a diverse manner, suitable to actual conditions and aligned with student sports movements, contributing to improving physical fitness and fostering a healthy cultural and spiritual life within the university environment.
The 2026 Da Lat University Student Sports Festival takes place from April 8 to April 12, 2026. Immediately after the opening ceremony, the cross-country running event officially commenced on campus. The remaining competitions will continue to be held at the Multi-purpose Gymnasium and the artificial football field according to the schedule of the Organizing Committee.
With thorough preparation, the enthusiastic competitive spirit of the athletes, and the passionate support from spectators, the 2026 Da Lat University Student Sports Festival is expected to be a great success, contributing to promoting sports and physical training movements, and building the image of Da Lat University students as dynamic, healthy, and dedicated.
