Dalat University delegation joins the ministry of education and training’s delegation accompanying general secretary To Lam on state visit to China

As part of the State visit to China from April 14 to 17, 2026, by General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam and President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam To Lam and his spouse, a delegation from Dalat University had the honor of joining the delegation of the Ministry of Education and Training accompanying the General Secretary. During their stay in Beijing, the University delegation participated in a number of significant activities of strategic importance in the fields of education, science and technology, and innovation.

The Dalat University delegation included:

  • Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Tat Thang – Vice Rector;
  • Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Tuan – Head of the Office of Science, Technology and International Cooperation;
  • Dr. Pham Van Hoa – Vice Dean of the Faculty of Literature and History.

On the afternoon of April 14, 2026, in Beijing, the delegation attended the Vietnam–China Forum on Higher Education Cooperation, Science, Technology and Innovation, jointly organized by the Ministry of Education of China and the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam. General Secretary and President To Lam attended the forum and delivered a policy address at Tsinghua University, one of the world’s leading institutions for education and research.

At the forum, the General Secretary and President emphasized the pivotal role of education, science, and technology as key pillars of cooperation between the two countries in the new era. In particular, areas such as artificial intelligence, the semiconductor industry, green technology, and the training of high-quality human resources were identified as priority areas for strategic cooperation.

In line with the orientations set forth by the Party and State leadership, the Dalat University delegation actively engaged in networking activities, meetings, and discussions with educational and research partners in China throughout the visit. The University aims to expand its international cooperation network while enhancing the quality of education and scientific research, with a focus on its strengths in fundamental sciences, high-tech agriculture associated with the characteristics of the Central Highlands region, environmental science and sustainable development, as well as cultural and linguistic studies.

The visit not only provided opportunities to gain insights into advanced higher education models but also created favorable conditions for the University to promote substantive collaborative initiatives, including the establishment of joint research groups, academic exchanges, and educational partnership programs. These efforts contribute to the realization of Dalat University’s higher education internationalization strategy while strengthening friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and China in the fields of education, science, and technology.
