On the afternoon of April 9, 2026, at Phan Thiet University, the signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Da Lat University and Phan Thiet University was held. The event marks a new milestone, opening up broad opportunities for in-depth cooperation aligned with the goals of socio-economic development and the sustainable development orientation of the locality.

Attending the ceremony, representatives from Phan Thiet University included:
- Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vo Khac Thuong – Chairman of the University Council, President;
- Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dinh Phi Ho – Secretary of the Party Committee, Vice President;
along with leaders of affiliated units.
From Da Lat University, the delegation consisted of:
- Dr. Le Minh Chien – President;
- Dr. Mai Minh Nhat – Secretary of the Party Committee;
- Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Tat Thang – Vice President;
together with representatives from the following departments: Organization and Administration, Finance and Planning, Science and Technology and International Cooperation, Academic Affairs, and Student Affairs.
The ceremony was also honored by the presence of Mr. Doan Van Thuan, M.A., Deputy Director of the Lam Dong Provincial Museum, attending as a guest.

At the meeting, based on leveraging each institution’s strengths and in alignment with the science and technology development orientation serving the socio-economic development of Lam Dong Province for the 2026–2031 period, the two universities agreed to implement cooperation with a focus on highly applicable tasks that can be readily transferred into practice.
Cooperation activities will be promoted in an interdisciplinary approach, contributing to addressing major local challenges such as sustainable agricultural development, enhancing the value chain of agricultural products, developing high-quality tourism, and environmental protection.
In his remarks at the ceremony, Dr. Le Minh Chien, President of Da Lat University, emphasized:
“Cooperation between the two institutions must be closely linked to practical needs, while also expanding connections with government agencies, communities, and enterprises to build a comprehensive ecosystem for research and innovation.”
In addition, both parties agreed on plans to jointly implement science and technology tasks commissioned by the province; mobilize maximum social resources for research activities; and strengthen data sharing and the development of digital platforms to support governance. The signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding was successfully concluded. The effective implementation of this partnership model is expected to create synergistic impacts, contributing to improving training quality, research capacity, and the competitive position of both Da Lat University and Phan Thiet University in the current context of international integration.
